The four elements of Amsterdam

In the course of new show of the Amsterdam Urban Dance Show the spectator is taken on a journey of all seasons through Amsterdam.

Several short films are screened to show various parts of the year and of the city and each film is immediately followed by a dance that illustrates its respective theme.

Point of departure is Amsterdam.
What does Amsterdam represent?
How do we live here?
How does this translate into dance?

From their own perspective, from their own culture, we will explore how they find their way through Amsterdam. In what kind of dance genre do they operate? Do they get an opportunity in the creative industry of Amsterdam to showcase their own background? In this way Urban Dance, mixed with other dance styles of their choosing, becomes their communicative tool for working with the dancers.

The show is a performance that brings together the multicultural society and creative industry of Amsterdam. The raw dynamics of the young Urban dancers of Amsterdam brings you to the live of Amsterdam. In close cooperation with the young dancers, Marga Douma-Alta will develop various dance styles into an exciting show in which Urban Dance forms the common ground between dancers and audience.
